A C-54D Skymaster Transport from the 22nd Troop Carrier
Squadron, 374th Troop Carrier Wing was on a combat mission when it
crashed three miles north of Pyongyang, North Korea. With a
first flight in 1945, the aircraft (4272742), was written off as a
total loss.

Thompson, 2Lt. Howard R.
Howard was born June 27, 1926 in Compton, California. A
World War II and Korean War veteran, he is buried in Fort
Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego, California.
