A C-46D Commando Transport (#44-77538) on a courier run between Kangnung, Korea (K-18) to Pohang, Korea (K-3) crashed into the sea on October 16, 1952, killing all 25 servicemen onboard.  The C-46 left a base on the east coast of South Korea shortly before 1 a.m. and was due to arrive at another base on the east coast of South Korea about 40 minutes later.  Weather conditions were good.  There was no sign of the plane in spite of an intense search for it.

Born July 19, 1927, Airman Arrington was from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was serving with the 34th Troop Carrier Squadron, 315th Troop Carrier Wing stationed at Brady Air Base, Kyushu, Japan.

Bevilacqua, SSgt. Vincent James -

Born November 07, 1932 in East Boston, Massachusetts, he was serving in Headquarters, 5th Air Force, at the time of the crash.
 

Bishop, Airman 2C Billy Rhea -

Born March 12, 1929 in Eaton, Ohio, he was a son of Charles Elmer Bishop (1886-1963) and Eleanora Emma Hatcher Bishop (1903-1988).  His half-siblings were Walter Bishop (1909-1909), Florence Alma Bishop McGriff (1910-1994), infant girl Bishop (1919-1919), Robert E. Norris (1921-2012), George Washington Bishop (1915-1932), and Robert Rex Bishop (1924-1986). 
 

Booth, Aviation Ordnanceman 3C Carnell Edward -

Born January 13, 1933 in Andalusia, Alabama, Carnell was the son of Annie Lucille Bell Booth (1902-1935) and nephew of Susie Hanberry.  He was the football team captain at Andalusia High School and a 1951 graduate of Andi High.  He had been in the Navy for 15 months when he was lost at sea.  He was assigned to Kangyung Air Base in the Far East.

Born May 22, 1920 in El Dorado, Kansas, Captain Graper was the son of Elmer Oscar Graper (1887-1962) and Murrel M. Sweet Graper (1893-1976). 
 

Harmon, Airman 3C Norman Cline -

Born March 20, 1932 in Bessemer City, North Carolina, he was a son of David Wilson Harmon (1886-1966) and Fannie Armenthia Paysour Harmon (1889-1957).  Airman Harmon had been in the Air Force for two years and in Korea for only three months.  He was survived by his siblings William Houston Harmon (1930-2012), who was serving in the Air Force in Korea at the time of his brother's death; Iva Mae Harmon Canipe (1910-1990); Ethel Lee Harmon Cole (1913-1982); Catherine Harmon Burleson; and Edythe Harmon Benefield.

Born January 31, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Walter was a son of Ralph M. Rutledge (1899-1986) and Charlotte E. Slaymaker Rutledge (1902-1996).  He was married and had a son, Ron Rutledge.  Among his seven siblings were John Lamont Rutledge (1926-2015), Bruce C. Rutledge (1932-2017), three other brothers and two sisters.  He is buried in Glenwood Memorial Cemetery, Broomall, Pennsylvania.

Born January 17, 1926, Melvin was from North Dakota and Spokane, Washington.  He was a son of Iisak (Isaac) Everet Sarkilahti (1887-1966) and Anna Lehtola Johnson Sarkilahti (1888-1971).  His siblings were Ernest "Ernie" L. Sarkilahti (1917-1973), Segyard "Sig" W. Sarkilahti (1914-1964), Elmer Sarkilahti (1919-1989), Leonard Sarkilahti, Clifford A. Sarkilahti (1924-1975), Oscar N. Sarkilahti, one other brother and a sister.
