Dear Mr. Ray:

Attached are 1996 and 1995 schedules segregating the KWVA claim. We have not received any data for claims arising during 1997. Stan Myrda and Nick Pappas have stated that losses were incurred during 1997.

The claim outlined by the KWVA, revised in the December 4, 1997 letter from Stan Myrda, has not been finalized. [The following outlines the status of the claim investigation to date, but the table is laid out differently on the Korean War Educator.]:

  1. Check disbursements totaling $116,31.63 to John Maison or to his accounts represents the amount paid by the KWVA to various credit card companies and to John Maison directly. No evidence has been presented to confirm that these disbursements did not enure to the benefit of the KWVA.
  2. Certain transactions totaling $16,567.56, outlined by The KWVA, appear to only benefit J. Maison or his beneficiaries.
  3. Inadequate claim documentation and investigation was prepared and presented for claimed transactions totaling $90,647.47.
  4. Certain Transactions totaling $34,650.10 appear to benefit the KWVA and are likely inappropriately included in the KWVA claim.
  5. Certain Transactions totaling $3,801.83 appear to benefit the KWVA and are inappropriately included in the KWVA claim.

Please call me at 559-8118 to discuss the above summary.

Sincerely,
