Message | My dad Corporal Lionel Oropeza from Los Angeles, CA was with KCOMZ in Korea 1952. He was a Lineman and climbed telephone poles setting up for the Cablemen to attach the cable to the telephone lines. He went to basic and comm school at Camp San Luis Obispo, CA. When he returned from Korea he mustered out at a Repo-Depot in Pittsburg, CA. |

Message | This is a great site and I wish my husband had lived to see it, he passed away in 2005. He was in some heavy history fighting but never talked about it. I helped him fill out a history before he died. HE APPRECIATED THE MEMORIALS IN Washington even though he only saw pictures of it. His name was Thaddeus (Ted or Zeke) Jasek from Chicago Ill. My son Mark (An Air Force Vet of many years) found the site and sent it to me. Our kids are getting a very weak history background in American History. Thanks again. A Jasek |

Message | This is a great site. I have gained a lot of resource info. from here and research data. My Uncle, William Foster Lahrmer, was killed 16 October, 1952, at the Battle of Triangle Hill, North Korea. If there are any survivors of this battle, I would appreciate corresponding with you regarding the battle. Am working on a book about my uncle and seeking closure for a very close-knit family of 12 siblings. |

Message | My father is PFC Harry G. Ackeret Jr. He is a Korean War Silver Star recipient. We are from Seymour Indiana. I am very proud of my father. He was the eldest of 9 kids and went to fight for his country at age 17. After arriving in KOREA he met another soldier PFC Floyd Acton, also from Seymour, Indiana. My father and Floyd became very close with both of them being from the same home town. They were fighting together and during a very bloody and heavy attack they became separated and my father could hear Floyd calling his name. My father tried to reach him but was unable to despite trying his best. Floyd was never heard from again and listed as MIA. My father still has nightmares of the event. GOD BLESS ALL OF THE SOLDIERS OF THE KOREAN WAR. ALL GAVE SOME AND SOME GAVE ALL. GOD BLESS |
